Julian Brown Home is a celebration of timeless design, quality craftsmanship, and affordable luxury. Based in rural Herefordshire, the store offers a carefully curated selection of home furnishings and interiors, rooted in a deep passion for design and a commitment to personal service.
The inspiration for the store comes from Julian’s upbringing in the Herefordshire countryside, where he was immersed in the world of interiors from a young age. His parents, founders of the respected IJL Brown stores in Hereford and on London’s Kings Road, instilled in him a strong work ethic and appreciation for quality. He recalls, as a young boy, watching his father collecting and delivering stacks of chairs in his van to and from to customers across the country.
Years of international travel and hands-on industry experience shaped Julian’s refined eye and commitment to honest, accessible design.
When his parents retired, Julian returned home to open Julian Brown Home—an independent interiors store offering beautifully made furniture, bespoke pieces, and home accessories not found on the high street. From custom sofas to made-to-measure curtains and blinds, every item is selected or created with care.
The store is proud to be Herefordshire’s only premium Farrow & Ball stockist with an in-house tinting machine, offering immediate access to every colour and finish. This partnership reflects the store’s dedication to longevity, quality, and thoughtful design.
Julian is joined by a talented team with decades of interiors experience. Clare, formerly of IJL Brown, brings a wealth of knowledge and friendly, expert service. Maria, with a background in Interior Design, oversees daily operations and visual merchandising. Jo McCulloch leads the bespoke curtain and blinds department, offering at-home consultations and a wide selection of beautiful fabrics.
Julian Brown Home is more than a shop—it’s a return to traditional values in retail, where quality, service, and craftsmanship still matter.
We will open at 10am on Wednesday 19th August and close at 5pm (normal time).
Our showroom is closed on the early May bank holiday (4th May2026), back open on Tuesday the 5th May at 9am however are website is a great place to browse until tomorrow!
